Print books at the warehouse

Hi! The print books for Story Symmetry and Story Virality (formerly Editing for Marketability) are at the warehouse. They looked fantastic in proof!
We don't have a timeline on when they'll ship out, but our warehouse can often squeeze us in between bigger projects. I am hoping you'll receive your books in the next two weeks.

Ebooks and Audiobooks Uploaded, Print Books in Proofing

Hello! Quick note as I'm on my phone.
The ebooks and audiobooks for the main books in these series (Story Symmetry and Editing For Marketability) have been added to BackerKit! You should have received an email earlier this week.
Editing For Marketability has a new name: Story Virality. I ended up adjusting the framework and rebuilding the book, and I think it's that much better for it.
As a reminder, you have both versions.
Both books have significantly more content with Story Symmetry getting an additional 80 or so pages, and Story Virality doubling in length. Each book is now a little over 300 pages.
The print books are uploaded with the printer and I will get the proofs next week, then I'll ship orders to my fulfillment center, where it'll be mostly out of my hands. They are coming though!
While I was uploading the books, I did an audit of the BackerKit and realized it's missing a few files. These files exist, and are complete, but they weren't uploaded originally through some error on my end, and I apologize for that. I will be getting them uploaded in the next few days as I can and you will receive an email when they are ready if you were affected.
There are two items that are still in the creation process: the finalized workbook, and the new recordings for the Story Uplevels course. These are a priority as I want to completely close out this campaign ASAP. I'll keep you updated as I get these two projects finished.
I finally want to say I know I've missed some comments and messages about this campaign--I apologize for that. Kickstarter allows up to six campaigns in fulfillment at a time, but I don't recommend it. Going forward, I'll be using Russell's fulfillment strategy of completely finishing every item in the campaign, then launching it to ensure timeliness.

Files uploading to BackerKit in the next few days

Hello! Quick update to let you know that the book additions are complete on Story Symmetry and almost complete on Editing For Marketability (now named Story Virality to match its sister book).
I will start loading ebook and audiobook for SS tomorrow, and I expect to make great progress on finalizing the other book as well! I'm also hoping to get the paperback files set up through BookVault by the end of this week so they can ship.
Expect to hear more from me this week!

BackerKit Survey and Expected Delivery Timelines

Hello!
Quick update: I'm hoping to send out the BackerKit survey this week! It still needs some updates and to go through approval. If there are any challenges with that, it may bleed into early next week. I am getting it out a little later than I had hoped because there is some new stuff on it that I've never done before, but it doesn't affect the delivery timeline a ton.
When it goes out, a lot of the digital rewards will be delivered immediately upon your filling out the survey.
The main books are still in rewrites. They will be delivered in ebook and audiobook in August/September in order to hit the October delivery on the paperbacks. As noted on the campaign, I expect to deliver by October 2024.
Note: these are expected delivery timelines. Any delays will be communicated, though I don't expect anything at the moment.
When the survey goes out, there will be a few upgrades/add-ons that you'll be able to select. I believe with the way BackerKit does it, these are one-time offers, so I wanted to let you know ahead of time:
- We activated 4 Story Uplevels videos as bonuses though the campaign for anyone who backed at $20 or above. If you want to upgrade to a $20 or above tier to get those bonuses, you will be able to so through the survey.
- There are eight videos total in the Story Uplevels mini-course. If you want to get the other four, you can add-on at $50. The course is priced much higher than that usually, but since this is a small group, I feel okay about offering this!
- I was looking through my workbook pages and I have about 60-70% of a Story Marketability workbook/ printable done. This is largely because it shares a lot of the same pages and lessons as Novel Writing Prep, which already has a workbook. So I'll also offer the Story Marketability workbook as an add-on for digital and print through the survey, too!
Again, you will be able to upgrade at special pricing when you fill out the survey. The special pricing is only going to be available to backers. After that, you could purchase at the regular pricing through the BackerKit store, or on retailers when the items are available there.

Small Personal Update
I had some bigger plans for launching nonfiction Kickstarters this year, but I'll probably be setting those aside for at least the next six months, though it may be longer! I want to make sure everything from current campaigns is delivered on, and I want to continue to get the right support into place for running and fulfilling campaigns too. I'm simply not where I want and need to be with it yet, which I'm sure many creatives can relate to.
My newest kiddo will be 8 months old in a few weeks, and our family schedule is finally stabilizing in terms of getting solid sleep + general time and energy management. Progress is being made, and I want to keep taking care of my family and myself + fully heal my relationship with my backers and audience. Although I hope to be able to run more campaigns in 2025/2026, it's not in the cards for the rest of 2024.
